In de loop der tijden hebben er 124.000 profeten geleefd, die steeds kwamen met dezelfde boodschap. Namelijk dat er slechts één Schepper is, Die de hemelen en aarde geschapen heeft. Altijd weer waren er mensen die daaraan geloof hechtten en mensen (een meerderheid) die dat niet deden. Heel bekende profeten zijn Adam, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ayoub (Job), Younus (Jonas), Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus). De laatste profeet was Muhammad sws. Hij wordt ook wel het zegel der profeten genoemd, omdat met zijn boodschap en met het laatste heilige boek de Qur’an alles wat daarvoor geopenbaard was aan de mensen een begrijpelijk geheel werd.
Daarnaast zijn er in alle tijden awliyas of wali’s (vrienden van Allah of God) en dat zijn er heel veel. In alle tijden zijn er awliyas die vertegenwoordigers kunnen genoemd worden van alle profeten die geleefd hebben en dus zijn dat er op elk moment in de tijd 124.000. Daarnaast zijn er meerdere mensen die vrienden van Allah of God genoemd kunnen worden en sommigen zijn zich daar zelf niet eens van bewust. Vandaar dat het kan dat je op straat misschien wel uit de mond van een vreemde iets kan horen dat een boodschap van Allah is aan jou. Alles komt van Allah en overal laat Allah zijn tekenen zien.
Sheikh Nazim was en is een grote awliya van Allah. Hij wordt Sultan ul Awliya genoemd en werd tijdens zijn leven gezien als de vertegenwoordiger van de profeet Muhammad sws op aarde. Hij is niet meer in dit leven en zijn khalifa is Sheikh Mehmed Adil Haqqani (KS), zijn zoon.

Shaykh Muhammad Adil, also fondly known as Shaykh Mehmet, is Maulana Shaykh Nazim’s elder son.
He is known for his intense humility, and only began speaking publicly at the Lefke Dergah when his father fell gravely ill late last year. He is so humble, that he often apologises for using the word ‘I’ during his Suhbahs, as that is a measure of a man’s ego. One can tell that a man speaks with ego, when he is using the word ‘I’ regularly in his speech, often praising himself, mentioning his long service or association to the Masters. Shaykh Mehmet is nothing of the sort, he is a down-to-earth simple man, who spends must time planting in the fields and tending to Maulana’s livestock. We will upload videos of him hard at work in the fields, once there is an opportunity.
Maulana Shaykh Nazim speaks very highly of him, having described him as a dragon on a few occasions. His last seclusion was done together with Shaykh Adnan Kabbani, another Lion of Maulana’s, on June 14th 2010. Watch the video of Maulana Shaykh Nazim announcing this at these links:

Here is the Saltanat TV link where Maulana appoints Shaykh Mehmet, as his Khalifa on 4th November 2011. Maulana said:
“He is my Khalifa (Deputy). He as been granted by our GrandShaykhs. He is on Golden Chain. He may issue an order to everyone, through East and West. He is from Wuzera (Grand Viziers) of Mahdi (as).”
He gives ten minute Suhbahs, in Turkish and English.”
Helaas zijn er moslims die menen dat het volgen van een sheikh shirk is, dat wil zeggen het toekennen van deelgenoten aan Allah. Met andere woorden: sommige mensen denken dat degenen die een sheikh volgen aan de de sheikh dezelfde eigenschappen toekennen als aan Allah swta. Dat is niet zo. De weg naar Allah is niet zo gemakkelijk, omdat er veel zijwegen zijn, die van Allah afdwalen. Daarom is het goed een gids te hebben. De gids vormen de Qur’an en hadith, maar daarnaast kan een sheikh ook een gids zijn. Omdat deze de weg kent en weet welke valkuilen een mens kan tegenkomen. Dus ook de sheikh is een gids. Een sheikh is een awliya ofwel een wali, een vriend van Allah en Allah houdt van de mensen die Zijn weg en Zijn geboden volgen en daarom mogen wij ook van deze awlyia houden en ze respecteren en profiteren van hun wijze levenslessen.

“HOW TO RECOGNISE A WALI
The method of recognizing a Wali and a non-Wali is to rectify one’s heart
and mind, and to adopt his company. Thereafter if you find that his
company generates the thought and love of Allah in your heart, then he
is a Wali. On the contrary, if the heart indulges in worldly thought, then
he is not a Wali, because it is said, “The heart is a mirror of another heart”.
Imam Nawawi (Radi Allahu ta’ala Anhu), and also Ibn Maja (Radi Allahu
ta’ala Anhu) report that when Sayyadina Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu ta’ala
Alayhi wa Sallam) was asked about the characteristics of the Awliya, he
declared, “Allah is remembered when they are seen.”
ALLAH DECLARES WAR ON THE ENEMIES OF THE AWLIYA
In Bukhari Shareef, Hadrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu ta’ala Anhu) reports
the following Hadith-e-Quddsi:
The Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu Ta’ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said that Allah said, “Whoever shows enmity to a friend of mine, I shall be at war with him.”
Who has the courage to be at war with Allah? Certainly, they will be
destroyed! Therefore, it is important that the Awliya should be respected
and honoured. Whoever disrespects, and insults the Awliya, will without a doubt, receive Allah’s wrath.
Hadrat Khawaja Gharib Nawaaz Mu’inuddin Chisti (Radi Allahu ta’ala Anhu) narrated:
“There was a man who hated the Awliya. When he died, and was placed in
the grave, the people tried to turn his face toward the Qibla, but it would
always turn away from that direction. The people were astonished at this
action. There was a voice from nowhere announcing, ‘It would be a futile
exercise to try to turn his face toward the Qibla, because he used to turn
his face away at seeing the Awliya, and that he who would turn his face in
disgust from My friends, I will turn My face on him. He is a condemned
soul, and on the day of judgement, such people will appear with faces of
donkeys.’”
